High Concept
Mirlo Above the Sun is a top-down, fast-paced, melee brawler game, where the player needs to make use of his attack to push and defeat enemies, while also performing charges and jumps to avoid hazards in order to reach the end of the level.

About the game
Mirlo Above the Sun is a 3D video game project we developed as senior students at DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe Bilbao using Unreal Engine 4. The team was composed of 5 programmers, 5 artists, and a musician. It took us 8 months to develop the game while most of us were finishing the bachelor’s degree.

My contribution
These are some of the tasks I accomplished:
- Collaborated with the design department to explore and create enemy-arenas for the levels
- Conducted the behavior of some enemies, hazards, and level events. For instance, the solar knight, the battery, the turret and its projectile, the conveyor belts, the anchor and the spikes.
- Contributed to visual feedback for the main character’s and enemies’ actions and events throughout the game
- Integrated the art and materials for the enemies and hazards
- Set up the menu system for the entire game
